The application on September 2005 of the association agreement between the European Union
and Algeria had negative repercussions on the Algerian sugar market. French filiere approach
is used in order to analyse the Algerian sugar chain and to point out the reasons of this situation
as well as the necessary actions that for its removal. The difficulties that face the sugar
companies are important outcomes of this filiere analysis.
