Withthepurposeofdeterminingifthesupernatantsludgesofthepilotsysteminthesta-bilizationpondsatTheUniversityofZulia,Maracaibo,Venezuela,fulfillthestandardsestab-lishedbytheEnvironmentalProtectionAgency,theMPN/100g.ofTotalColiforms(TC),Fae-calColiforms(FC),FaecalStreptococci(FS),andEnterococci(E)weredeterminedfromthesesupernatantssludgesdepositedinexperimentalsandbedsatseveralperiodsoftime.Thetimeswerefrom0to9weeks,showingvaluesforfreshsludges(0weeks)between1.6x109MPN/100gforTC;1.18x109MPN/100g.forFC,and0.173x109MPN/100gforFS,andvaluesthatrangebetween0.021x109and0.016x109MPN/100gforE.Thesevaluesdecreasedinmag-nitudeasdryweeksincreased,andattheninthweek,itwasobservedthatFChadanaveragevalueof4.67x104MPN/100g,showingitscompliancewiththerequirementsforitsuseasabio-solidinvegetableculturesthatarecookedpriortoconsumption.ThisresearchrepresentsavaluablecontributionfortheStabilizationPondsSystemsduetothelackofinformationastothemicrobiologicalqualityofthesupernatantsludgesthatgrowintheponds
