The 5th meeting of the Middle East FMD Roadmap was organized virtually under the umbrella of the GF-TADs, by its FMD Working Group (WG), during 6-9 December 2021. The meeting bring together representatives of the Middle East FMD roadmap (Libya was invited for the first time), with the objectives to share information on FMD virus circulation within the Middle Eastern FMD virus ecosystem, assess the progress on FMD control of Middle Eastern Members, support the implementation of the vaccination strategies, share experiences of successful control measures, gain understanding of the progressive control pathway principles and implementation, update the membership of the Regional Advisory Group for the Middle East and update the regional epidemiology and laboratory networks’ workplan for 2021-2023.
