This study was carried out in two farms of the Uruará county, state of Pará, located at the Transamazônica highway. The hydraulic conductivity of saturated soil (Ko) of Ultisoils under forest and pasture (Brachiaria brizantha, cv Marandu) was determined at the depths of 0-7, 7-14 and 14-21 em . The measurement was done at the field and at laboratory, under comparable conditions. At the field the K, was determined by infiltrorneter cylinder and at the laboratory by core samples which environ of 100 cm3. There was striking difference of the K, among soil depth under pasture in one place. Under forest the soils were more permeable than under pasture.
