Descripción
Durante 1995 en el Centro de Investigación Nataima de la Corporación Colombiana de Investigación Agropecuaria CORPOICA, se realizó una evaluación preliminar de 18 introducciones de achira, que fueron plantadas y caracterizadas con el propósito de diferenciar los materiales y detectar si existía variabilidad entre ellas. Las variables que más contribuyeron a diferenciar los materiales fueron: color del tallo, estatura de planta, días a floración y color de la flor, lo que permite deducir que la procedencia de los materiales recolectados es de diverso origen, aunque, para mayor precisión se debe hacer una caracterización donde se incluyan otras variables y bajo la concepción de un modelo estadístico.

The variables that showed a greater contribution in the differentiate of the materials were : stalk's color, plant's height, days number to flourish and flower's color, variables that have suggested that the origen, of the gathered materials is different among them, and for a greater security a new characterization must to be done but including another variables under a stadistical model.
