Based on the data from the recent Nigerian National Living Standard Survey (NLSS), income, demographic and environmental factors as well as exposure to western culture influence the consumption of dairy products in the country. From the results of the descriptive and quantitative analyses, it is safe to infer that demand will grow and therefore government will need to design polices to promote the production and marketing of dairy products to enhance supply in the local market on a sustainable basis.
