dc.descriptionSeveral forms of participatory management are either experimented with, in use, or have been in use in Sri Lanka by various agencies (government, semi-government, and voluntary). An overview of village irrigation systems in Sri Lanka, with reference to ongoing irrigation development efforts and particular irrigation management needs is presented, as well as priority research issues relevant to small-scale irrigation systems.
