Bovine mastitis is a multifactorial inflammatory process of the mammary gland and constitutes one of the diseases with the greatest impact on dairy herds worldwide, due to its negative effects on animal welfare and farm profitability. The objective of this study was to determine, through microbiological culture, the frequency of isolation of mastitiscausing pathogens in lactating cows from the municipalities of Guarará, Simão Pereira, and Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, in order to support the implementation of preventive and therapeutic measures, with emphasis on the rational use of antimicrobials.
