Resumen

Descripción

This report originally prepared in 2002 and revised in 2012 covers three topics. The main body of the report consists of an overview of the existing legal and institutional frameworks relevant to agricultural land use in countries of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) that were studied. The overview is based primarily on the six country reports prepared in 2002 by the National Legal Consultants for Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vi ncent and the Grenadines respectively, but is also informed by the existing literature on the subject and the knowledge of the author who was the Regional Legal Consultant on the project. In the second part, the key lessons learned and options for reform are summarized, and in the final section some recommendations have been put forward for consideration.
