This four page fact sheet provides key information on gender responsive development for food security in the Cook Islands. The historical background of the roles played by women within the family and community is explained and the current situation outlined. Gender differentiated data on economic activities and labour force participation, and access to assets is provided, along with recommendations for gender responsive development programmes in the Cook Islands needed to addr ess food security.
