FAO is committed to supporting national governments and collaborating with Development Partners (DP) in the subregion to achieve sustainable agricultural transformation and ensure that agriculture is a driver of economic growth. One of SFE’s key functions is to provide technical support to programme development and implementation in the subregion. This Strategic Framework underscores FAO’s role in agriculture and food security, and responds to the subregion’s agriculture and rural development sector needs, challenges and opportunities.
