Aggregate resources are deposits of sand, gravel and crushed stone that are used to construct everything from roads and sidewalks to hospitals and schools • Mining these resources is a source of negative environmental externalities (e.g. dust, noise, visual impacts) • Negative externalities generated from extraction should be considered when making locational and reclamation decisions
