Descripción
FAO Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) in Türkiye is a key mechanism for strengthening technical collaboration between FAO and the Government of Türkiye to build capacity across food and agriculture systems. FAO has maintained a strong presence in the country since 1982 through its Representation in Ankara, further reinforced by the Sub-Regional Office for Central Asia established in 2007. Through TCP, FAO supports national partners—primarily the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and related public institutions—in addressing emerging priorities such as food safety, agrifood systems transformation, agricultural development, and rural livelihoods. All TCP initiatives are aligned with Türkiye’s Country Programming Framework and national development plans, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Since its inception, TCP has supported 19 projects in Türkiye with a total investment of USD 2 million across 10 thematic areas, resulting in strengthened institutional capacity, improved food system governance, and enhanced livelihoods in rural communities.
