When measuring environmentally conscious behaviour and determining its variables, focus
often lies only on consumers, but environmental conservation requires not only the consumers’ but also the producers’ input. After defining environmentally conscious behaviour, I utilized the market research method to determine how participating in agri-environmental programs and subsidies affects producers’ environmental consciousness and waste management behaviour. The research result indicates that participation
in agri-environmental programs develops producers’ environmental sensitivity, and improves
their environmentally conscious behaviour, and this even holds true for waste management, which is not directly not subsidized by the programs.
