In 2025, the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, with Kenya’s Adaptation Consortium (ADA) and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), supported Kenyan county governments in integrating conflict sensitivity into climate adaptation planning across arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). Using the Conflict Sensitivity Wheel, the initiative advised the County Climate Change Fund (CCCF) to integrate conflict sensitivity as a vehicle for peace-responsive adaptation. Through policy engagement, co-developed tools, and multi-stakeholder workshops, the work informed national and county processes, enhancing coordination, inclusion, and resilience in climate–security programming.
