Descripción
The objective of the proposed project is to develop a market with modern facilities and atmosphere to increase trade and bring economic benefits to the project beneficiaries and the country as well. The environmental and social impact assessment of the Project ascertains that the Project is likely to cause some few but not significant adverse environmental and social impacts. However, the adverse impacts identified can be readily addressed by some embedded control measures in the engineering design of the Project as well as additional mitigation measures as suggested in the Environmental and Social Management Plan. The Project received favorable support from local people and other stakeholders during consultations and they anticipated numerous benefits as a result of the project.
