Resumen
Descripción
The project strengthened SISAN and supported the implementation of intersectoral policies to combat hunger, improve food supply and promote healthy, resilient, inclusive and sustainable food systems. By the end of the project, FAO had assisted the Brazilian government in preparing two national instruments: the National Food Supply Plan, establishing a coherent and equitable food system, and Presidential Decree 11 937, regulating the Solidarity Kitchens Programme to provide free meals to vulnerable populations. The project further contributed to ongoing FSN programmes through the development of the PAA Supply modality, creating a Popular Food Supply Network to ensure affordable food in urban areas with low-income populations.
