dc.descriptionThe newsletter is a collection of highlights from FAO activities in Afghanistan between July and September 2022 to update the public about progress FAO is making in responding to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. The highlights include launch of a joint initiative to support women-led organizations by UNHCR, FAO and UN Women; update on a vaccination programme against lumpy skin disease; distribution of agricultural inputs for the largest wheat cultivation season has started; a new World Bank project to provide critical life-saving and livelihood assistance to smallholder farmers; a new project funded by the Government of Japan to enhance local food production capacity; a new grant from the United States of America to support farmers and agriculture in Afghanistan; and round five of Data in Emergencies monitoring in Afghanistan.
