Ground Truth Analytics (GTA) shares how their advanced artificial intelligence technology is transforming agricultural decision-making across Africa. By interpreting satellite imagery, GTA can map farmland, identify crops, and monitor crop growth in real time. This innovation supports governments, research institutions, and private sector stakeholders like fertilizer and input companies by providing accurate agricultural data for planning, policymaking, and improving farmer support systems. GTA also highlights opportunities for collaboration with IITA, including developing digital extension services that deliver timely advisory messages to farmers—such as when to prepare land, plant, apply fertilizer, and compare crop performance.
