This study examines the historical changes, current status, trends and present outlook with regard to gender issues for North Asian forestry. It systematically analyses the existing knowledge and data separately for four countries in North Asia: China, Japan, Mongolia and Republic of Korea, and focuses on gender roles and gender structures, as well as relevance and impact of gender issues in forestry to 2020.
