| dc.description | The Newsletter is an initiative by the National Biosafety Project (Implementation of the National Biosafety Framework in Accordance with the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety). This project is implemented by the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment and the Food and Agriculture Organization. This newsletter will be a platform for experts, the academia and students to share scientific findings and perceptions on Biosafety. This newsletter which will be in English, Sinhalese and Tamil will provide awareness on Biosafety which is important with regard to the production of Genetically Modified Organisms including Genetically Modified plants to increase crop productivity and value addition to products. In addition the benefits of Genetically Modified products in the Pharmaceutical industry and in human health are also included in the newsletter | |
