Public resources alone cannot meet the financing demands of small and medium-sized enterprises in agriculture, smallholders and other value chain actors. This policy brief explores how innovative finance can help to mobilize private capital for sustainable and resilient agrifood systems, promote social inclusion and address challenges like climate change and biodiversity loss. The brief also highlights the opportunities for and challenges to scaling innovative finance, assessing how new tools can be best leveraged for transformative impact and private capital mobilization in agrifood systems.
