This poster highlights the challenges of heat stress in cows and the importance of proper heat management for their health and productivity. The Livestock Farmer's Field School recognizes the critical challenge of heat stress in cows and emphasizes the importance of proper heat management for their health and productivity. The program provides training on techniques to mitigate the effects of high temperatures, such as improving barn ventilation, offering shaded rest areas, and implementing cooling systems. By adopting these heat management practices, farmers can reduce the physiological strain on their livestock, preventing declines in milk yield, reproductive performance, and overall well-being. Addressing heat stress is particularly crucial as climate change increases the frequency and intensity of heatwaves in many regions. Through the field school's comprehensive curriculum, farmers gain the knowledge and skills to create optimal environmental conditions for their herds, boosting animal welfare and maximizing the productivity and profitability of their dairy operations.
