The Republic of Moldova is a major table grape producer, with the sector playing a vital role in agriculture, exports, and rural livelihoods, and exports reaching about 85,000 tonnes valued at USD 79 million in 2023. While production combines traditional and modern practices that support quality and employment, the sector remains constrained by farm fragmentation, low productivity, limited post‑harvest infrastructure, strong market competition, and growing climate and water risks, which together limit its resilience and growth potential.
