El presente documento está organizado en cuatro secciones. La primera trata las principales tendencias macroeconómicas en las cuales el sector se desenvuelve. La segunda incluye los hechos estructurales, las perspectivas y las recomendaciones para las políticas del sector agrícola ampliado en sus cuatro grandes subsectores: agricultura, ganadería, bosques y pesca/acuicultura. La tercera sección aborda temas relativos al bienestar y la institucionalidad agrícola y rural. Finalmente, la cuarta sección del libro discute un tema de importancia coyuntural y de relevancia transversal para el sector: el comercio agrícola en la región, sus últimas tendencias y desafíos.
This document is organized into four sections. The first deals with the main macroeconomic trends in which the sector operates. The second includes the structural facts, perspectives, and policy recommendations for the expanded agricultural sector in its four major subsectors: agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fisheries / aquaculture. The third section addresses issues related to well-being and agricultural and rural institutions. Finally, the fourth section of the book discusses an issue of short-term importance and cross-cutting relevance for the sector: agricultural trade in the region, its latest trends and challenges.
