| dc.description | Sustainable agriculture and natural resources management are of majorsocial and economic importance in the countries of the Southern AfricanDevelopment Community (SADC) Region. Although these havethe potential to make the region food and nutrition secure and supporta vibrant economy based on intra and interregional trade, food safetyissues, plant pests and animal diseases constrain the full achievementof this potential. The project aimed to assist eight SADC member states(Angola, Botswana, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa,Zambia and Zimbabwe), as well as other member states in the region,to address food safety, plant health and animal health issues, in orderto increase agricultural productivity and facilitate regional andinternational trade. | |
