Resumen
Descripción
Tom Brown is a supplementary food powder made from a blend of locally available roasted soya beans, groundnut, guinea corn, maize, millet, fish powder and local spices. The ingredients are mixed and typically prepared as a porridge for weaning babies. Tom Brown is a cost-effective solution against malnutrition; it is highly nutritious, locally produced and processed, quick and easy to prepare, readily available, accessible, affordable and accepted by local communities.
FAO's Tom Brown initiative in northeastern Nigeria prevents child wasting and supports the recovery of acutely malnourished children and pregnant and breastfeeding women.
