This diagnostic tool aligns with the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) Framework for Analysis and Action for Forestry and Social Protection, which outlines a comprehensive strategy to integrate social protection measures with sustainable forest management practices. The Diagnostic tool serves as a practical analytical instrument to guide the implementation of integrated policy frameworks that leverage the strengths of both forestry and social protection policies. It is designed to build the capacity of stakeholders to create synergies, promote cross-sectoral collaboration and drive transformative change for communities that depend on forests for their livelihoods.The tool introduces methodology and process and provides data collection instruments including desk review, interview guides and survey questionnaires, for assessing and understanding the state of coherence between forestry and social protection policies.
