Actions and strategies for the suppression and eradication of the Mediterranean fly are presented, as well as the establishment of free zones with low prevalence in the countries, representing the basis of a possible regional eradication, accompanied by a comprehensive program of promotion and health and fruit and vegetable health for the benefit region of. The program presents a containment barrier in the populations of Chiapas and southern Tabasco that border Guatemala, after eradicating the plague from Mexican territory. Achievements in exports of horticultural products are identified; supporting the international market and the country's annual agricultural gross domestic product, also recognizes the use of technological innovation, strategic alliances and coordination mechanism.
