Fish Waste to Fashion project converts discarded fish skins into sustainable leather as an alternative to imported bovine leather, while empowering women in Cabo Verde's fishery sector. The project trains women in fish skin processing and leather production, establish partnerships with fish processors for raw materials, and connect with local artisans and the tourism industry for end products. It aims to address both waste management in fisheries and provide sustainable economic opportunities for women.
