The ACT Project supports countries to implement the three Codex AMR texts. One of those texts is the Guidelines on integrated monitoring and surveillance of foodborne antimicrobial resistance. Assessments of surveillance capacities in Colombia revealed great potential to progress to the integrated monitoring and surveillance called for in the Codex AMR guidelines. In response, the country has created, with support from the ACT project, an AMR Epidemiological Unit, which will be an important step towards the containment of AMR in the country.
