This document is the final report of the sixth session of the Scientific Sub-Committee of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic (CECAF), which was held in Accra, Ghana, from 7 to 9 September 2011. Major topics discussed were: (i) the reports of the three working groups on artisanal fisheries, small pelagics and demersal species respectively; (ii) fishery management issues in the CECAF region; (iii) validation of the resources and fisheries inventories available in the Fisheries Resources Monitoring System (FIRMS) for the CECAF region, for FIRMS publication; (iv) progress on the implementation of EAF in the CECAF region; (v) CECAF Capture Database – Trends, Reporting and Proposal for a revision of the CECAF Statistical Divisions; (vi) progress of FishCode/STF Project to support improvement of fisheries data collection in the region; (vii) report of work of other projects/programmes in the CECAF region, report of work of research institutions or scientific groups in CECA F member countries and Review of the state of resources in the region; and (viii) future programme of work in the region.
