Rainforest Alliance certification is granted to farms that comply with the environmental and social standards of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN), an international coalition of conservation groups supporting the adoption of positive agricultural practices . The certification system aims to encourage farmers to grow crops sustainably by defining a framework of practices for sustainable agriculture (the SAN standards ), training and supporting producers to implement these practices, and c ertifying the producers who meet them.
