En 2025, el IICA concentró su cooperación técnica en República Dominicana en la erradicación de la peste porcina africana, la bioseguridad porcina, la innovación y la articulación interinstitucional. El Programa de Apoyo Técnico para la Erradicación de la PPA, financiado por APHIS-USDA y cogestionado con el Ministerio de Agricultura y la Dirección General de Ganadería, fortaleció la prevención, vigilancia y respuesta nacional. Entre 2022 y 2025 gestionó USD 20.18 millones, compensó a 940 productores por 34 501 cerdos y capacitó a veterinarios, técnicos y productores. Además, se puso en marcha el Fondo de Inversión para la Bioseguridad Porcina, con una primera inyección de USD 2 millones. El IICA también consolidó convenios y alianzas con instituciones públicas, privadas, académicas y multilaterales, impulsando agendas de innovación, investigación agropecuaria, recursos hídricos, políticas públicas, extensión y digitalización.
In 2025, IICA focused its technical cooperation in the Dominican Republic on African swine fever eradication, swine biosecurity, innovation, and interinstitutional coordination. The Technical Support Program for the Eradication of ASF, funded by APHIS-USDA and co-managed with the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Directorate of Livestock, strengthened national prevention, surveillance, and response capacities. Between 2022 and 2025, the program managed USD 20.18 million, compensated 940 producers for 34,501 pigs, and trained veterinarians, technicians, and producers. IICA also launched the Swine Biosecurity Investment Fund, with an initial capital injection of USD 2 million, combining government credit resources and APHIS support. Beyond animal health, the Institute consolidated cooperation agreements and strategic alliances with public, private, academic, and multilateral partners, advancing agendas on innovation, agricultural research, knowledge management, water resources, public policy, extension, and digitalization.
