Descripción
Pakistan and FAO have enjoyed a close partnership since Pakistan became a Member Country of FAO in 1947. Over the past decade, the country has benefitted from national projects valued at around US$293 and regional projects valued at more than US$82 million. FAO has supported improvements in agricultural policy analyses and institutional strengthening in the country. It has supported the enhancement of integrated area development and expanded the participation of marginalized and vulnerable commu nities in sustainable development, including emergency response, post-crisis recovery and resilience building, with field-level interventions designed to help farmers acquire new agricultural techniques and improve their livelihoods. A wide range of capacity development initiatives has been provided in support of individual farmers, community and producer organizations, service providers and government staff.
