As a result of declining agricultural production and increasing trade imbalance on the Cook Islands, policies and interventions were needed to link agriculture to the growing tourism sector. Such linkages involve selling agricultural products to tourists for in-country consumption or products to take home. This project was implemented to effectively create these links and enhance the contribution of agriculture to the economy and livelihoods of the Cook Islands, leading to improved food security, health and nutrition.
