Descripción
This publication summarizes the key recommendations from the FAO global dialogue on high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, from 9 to 11 September 2025. It offers practical guidance and direction for strengthening early detection, rapid response, biosecurity, vaccination, safe trade, public-private partnerships, and coordination under a One Health approach. These recommendations align with FAO’s priorities on transboundary disease prevention and resilient agrifood systems and supports the implementation of the new Global Strategy for HPAI prevention and control (2024-2033) under the FAO and WOAH Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs). Targeted at governments, international organizations, scientific institutions, civil society, and the private sector, among others, they provide a clear framework for coordinated, science based action to respond to field needs.
