In April 2021, the World Banana Forum’s Task Force on Gender Equity (GE-TF) held its first in a series of three webinars in 2021, focused on priority issues for women workers in the banana industry. The main objective of the webinar and of this subsequent summary report is to raise awareness on the key issues surrounding women's employment and empowerment in the banana industry, and to highlight existing initiatives and best practices that strive to improve the working conditions for women in this respect. The information and learnings may be applicable to other agricultural sectors beyond the banana industry.
