Descripción

People developed agriculture around 12,000 years ago. Agriculture is considered a major factor of the global decline in biodiversity, considering its strong impact on the environment. The agriculture intensification during the 20th century has led to the homogenization of agricultural landscapes (monocultures) and to the development of farming practices that are unfavorable to many species. Among those practices pesticides application is listed high, as one of the most detrimental.
