Food prices were generally stable in major markets during the three months of June, July and August. Food security is deteriorating due to intense drought which has caused thousands of fire spots affecting some 1.5 million hectares. Agencies report an increasing levels of hunger in the country. WFP is assisting people through different food aid programmes.
