Across Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines, an Alliance-led partnership supported forestry authorities to develop and apply science-based digital systems for native tree seed supply, addressing a major bottleneck in forest and landscape restoration (FLR). Analysis revealed that only 34% of seed zones had available seed sources to support restoration. This evidence informed a 2025 Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC) recommendation encouraging its 34 member countries to strengthen native seed systems, following a regional Call to Action backed by forestry experts from 19 countries.
