dc.descriptionThe Strategy is the guiding document for FAO’s engagement in Somalia over the next three years based on concrete medium and long-term goals. It recognizes the critical role that natural resources play in sustaining the livelihoods of the millions of Somalis who live in the rural areas. It is further informed by the detailed analysis of the Somali livelihood systems while embracing the basic principles of building back better, promoting cooperation and partnerships, developing the capacity of loc al institutions and contributing to defusing the drivers of the conflict through a “do no harm” principle.
