dc.descriptionThis publication provides a concise overview of FAO’s key achievements and partnerships in Europe and Central Asia, despite ongoing challenges such as the war in Ukraine, climate change and political instability. The first section presents programme work through the lens of the Four Betters, highlighting initiatives under Better Production, including digital agriculture, the Green Agriculture Technical Platform, One Health and food systems transformation. Better Nutrition covers food safety, sustainable food systems, plant health, and markets and trade. Better Environment focuses on climate change mitigation and climate finance, bioeconomy and biodiversity, pest and pesticides-relaated risks and sustainable management of land and water resources, while Better Life addresses gender equality, youth engagement, rural transformation and resilience.The second section briefly summarizes major completed and ongoing projects across the region, showcasing initiatives such as One Country One Priority Product, Digital and Smart Villages, women’s empowerment, land consolidation, Farmer Field Schools, forest restoration and biodiversity conservation.
