This study aims to provide the standard guideline for forest education that has improved the link with the school curriculum in Korea. Teachers and forest education experts have had difficulties in teaching forest education in schools due to the lack of the forest education content system related to school education. To help them, we would like to present a forest education content by school level in consideration of the cognitive development of children and adolescents. In order to draw the content from the standard guidelines for forest education, it was organized by analyzing text-books of the 2015 revised curriculum and government-approved text-books and data books published by the Forest Service. As a result, it was composed of the goal of forest education, categories, general knowledge and achievement standards. After organizing the standard guidelines for school-linked forest education, the Delphi technique was implemented. The category of the forest education content system was largerly divided into ecosystem composition and interaction, the relationship between forests and humans, and sustainable forest ecosystems. The Achievement standards were composed of acquiring forest ecosystem knowledge, cultivating forest-related problem-solving skills, improving right values and responsible actions for sustainable forest ecosystems in line with the forest education goals. This study aims to derive standard guidelines for forest education in order to encourage children and adolescent to continuously participate in forest education by adjusting the guidelines closer to school curriculum and establishing a strategy for linking the forest education to school education.
