Descripción
The programme was implemented in an effort to support the coordinated set of activities under the three pillars of the EuFMD Strategic Plan 2019-2023, which together aim to reduce the risks and consequences stemming from the introduction of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and similar transboundary (FAST) diseases into the 39 Member Nations of the EuFMD, which includes all 27 members of the European Union. The programme’s priorities and work plans were developed by representatives of the 39 EuFMD Member Nations, together with the European Commission, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and FAO. The programme aimed to address priorities identified by EuFMD members and the European Commission and support its regional and international policies, aligning with those of the joint FAO/WOAH Global Framework for the progressive control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs). The present programme, Phase V, follows on from the lessons learned during the successful completion of 14 years of joint action under funding Phases I to IV.
