| dc.description | Since its emergence in Asia in late-2003, H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has caused global concern as an extremely infectious disease threatening animal and human health and the livelihoods of the most vulnerable. In response, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) have led international efforts to facilitate the prevention and control of H5N1 HPAI at its source in animals. | |
