The aim of the study is characterization of orchard production in Lower Silesia region, as well as an
attempt to answer the question of why, despite the favorable climate and soil conditions Lower Silesia is not
a significant region in the country with horticultural production, compared to other provinces. An opportunity
for the development of horticulture in this region is specialization in cultivation of species and varieties more
climatically demanding. Local markets supplying tourists and holidaymakers, as well as numerous guests
of agritourism farms can be the basis of sales of attractive fruits, not grown in other regions of the country.
