Snap beans yield high return to land and provide employment opportunities. The small farmer producing snap beans for the market will be able to generate a cash flow that allows significant investment in agrochemicals and other inputs. However, the crop does entail risks due to market fluctuations, production variation, and a high capital investment. | dc.description | El cultivo de habichuela puede constituir una alternativa atractiva para pequenos agricultores del tropico con buen acceso a mercados y dispuestos a correr riesgos. La habichuela produce un buen retorno a la tierra y proporciona muchas oportunidades de empleo. El pequeno agricultor que produce habichuela para el mercado puede generar un flujo de dinero que le permite hacer inversiones significativas en insumos agroquimicos y de otra naturaleza. Sin embargo, el cultivo conlleva ciertos riesgos como fluctuaciones del mercado, variabilidad de la produccion y gran inversion de capital.
