| dc.description | Through the Special Fund for Emergency and Rehabilitation Activities, the Government of Belgium contributed USD 500 000 to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to mitigate the adverse impacts of severe floods and landslides that affected Chattogram division of Bangladesh during August 2023. With Belgium’s generous support, FAO will provide 16 500 farming households (82 500 people) with time-critical production inputs. The planned emergency assistance packages will enable the affected communities to quickly restore their livelihoods and improve their food security. This document provides a brief description of the current context of the intervention and highlights the importance of the contribution in enhancing the resilience of the affected communities. | |
