| dc.description | Animal identification and animal traceability have lept to the front of the food policy agenda. The ongoing implementation of the National Animal Identification System in United States has raised concerns over the costs and benefits of implementing and maintaining such a system. In this paper, we lay the foundations for estimating the costs and benefits of implementing cattle traceability in Québec. Our results could eventually be used to estimate the costs and benefits of adopting a similar system in the United States. | |
